I had been as much a fan of Def Poetry Jam as I was of anything Russell Simmons ever produced. So when I wrote a series of Adidas spots designed to explore their theme of “Court & Street” through the eyes of an urban poet, we knew where to look. Shihan Van Clief made my copy sound way cooler than I would have been able to. These were some of my favorite commercials to write.
